This year marks both JFE’s anniversary year–more on that in the next Standard–and our first venture into restaurant dining. If you haven’t heard, we opened our first Snowfox Grab-n-Go Café in Seoul, Korea, in April, expanding our existing colorful and delicious sushi menu with the addition of fresh salads, breakfast-friendly onigiri sushi and daily-ground coffee.
Located in Seoul’s Gangnam district (which became a worldwide household name through Psy’s pop hit), the café is bright and contemporary with colorful, conveniently-carried sushi and salads front and center. So the eatery is a perfect fit for the area’s thousands of office workers and high-rise residents. We welcome our restaurant employees to the team!
Our flagship café was such a big hit with the bustling neighborhood’s sophisticated diners that we followed it up in July with a second Gangnam location. In August we’ll see yet a third Gangnam Snowfox Grab-n-Go Café, and we anticipate expansion to U.S. urban centers soon!
Our vision was always based on big dreams. Giving customers a brick-and-mortar experience with even more smiling Snowfox chefs will strengthen our brand and, in turn, our sales in grocery and other venues. The customer feedback we’ve been getting on the café is tremendous, and, as you know, sushi restaurants help us expose even more people to this cuisine.
We still have a great untapped market in America. We think Snowfox Grab-n-Go Café is as unique to quick-serve dining as our retail menu and merchandising were to grocery deli, so the next year is going to be our most exciting one yet.
